i just spent four and a half hours with the most amazing man.
we talked of politics, life, history.
we had supper together that i cooked (which of course was wonderful!)
we shared views on movies, books, and travels he had been on in the past.
i thought of nothing and no one else but him and what he was saying.
and for those few, brief moments, i was the happiest girl in the world.
i love you dad <3

I am very fortunate, for so many reasons. I guess we do look for men like our fathers... mine broke the mold. :)
He shared with me memories of me and my brother when we were young; how we used to try to get each other in trouble all the time. Of course, I was shocked - I wouldn't do that to my little brother! *grin* If I have been half the parent and teacher that he was, I will have succeeded. *sniff*
