Of love and friendship...

I have this friend, a mentor, a woman who inspires me, coaches me, talks me down off the ledge and skillfully removes the knife from my hand without me even knowing... I adore her.

She and I meet every couple weeks to catch up on all the gossip about the place I used to work with her, get good food, and have a giggle-fest. Tonight was supposed to be that night... And THEN...

Bb-b-bbut... Mexican with you beats movies with men any day!!!! (Well, unless it's Orlando Bloom or Sam Elliott-but only by a margin) How about Thursday? I have to run some work-related errands tomorrow afternoon and don't know what time I'll be done...

Oh... and as my life goes - guess who came to visit today? Yep... Mr Monthly... lol... So now I can be nervous AND premenstrual!!! Heh. Let's see how much of a man this guy REALLY is... ;)

I, being the awesome friend that I am would never cancel a dinner-date with a girl for a movie with a guy. However, she's been with me through most of the past few years, and has helped heal the heartbreak within. I knew what the answer would be when I asked her, but she has the more conflicting schedule, so if she'd have said she couldn't meet for a couple more weeks, we'd be chowing on Mexican tonight...

So. Now what?

OMFG.

I have a "date" tonight. An actual (I'll pick you up at 6:45 and we'll go to the movies) date. An "I'm treating, there will be none of this meeting you there bullshit, I am man, you are woman, I WILL pick you up" date.

I am feeling queasy. It's been raining all day, which means my hair looks like a brillo pad on acid. I now have a zit just under my lower lip that WAS NOT THERE AN HOUR AGO!!! I feel monster cramps and a migraine coming on. The only thing that can soothe me is hot, spicy, cheesy Mexican.

I wonder if it's too late to call M?
